A healthy local democracy only really exists when everyone participates. Yet many Leiden residents with a migration background still feel sidelined in politics and policy. Do you want to change that? Join LSM and make Leiden the most inclusive, involved and vibrant democracy in the Netherlands!
What will you do?
Leading and connecting – You facilitate interactive theme evenings, panel discussions and dialogue tables (NL/ENG or another language that you speak).
Designing campaigns – You help set up (online) campaigns that inform and inspire migrants to vote, speak out and actively participate in decision-making.
Organizing workshops – Together with ProDemos, the municipality and partners, you devise appealing workshops on, among other things, elections, energy transition, combating racism and poverty prevention. Bridge to the city hall – You bring questions and ideas from our target groups directly to policymakers and take their answers back to the neighborhood.

* Passion for justice and empowerment of vulnerable groups.
* Energetic presentation style and courage to lead conversations.
* Good command of Dutch and at least one other language (e.g. English, Arabic, Persian, Turkish, Tigrinya or French).
* Creativity to translate social themes into inspiring events.
