The Leiden Migrant Support Desk is working on a new and promising project: Kans Kok.
What started in 2020 during the COVID-19 pandemic as an initiative to prepare and deliver hot meals to residents of Leiden has grown into a strong community of volunteers, participants, and partners.
With Social Catering, we have shown that social engagement can grow into real impact. Now we are taking the next step.

👩🍳 From support to work
With the Kans Kok project, we are developing a professional hospitality center where people facing barriers to employment:
• receive training in the hospitality industry
• gain work experience
• are guided towards work or further education
We believe: there is plenty of talent — we must create opportunities.

Too many people are unintentionally standing on the sidelines. They have talent, but lack:
• work experience
• self-confidence
• a network
• practical skills
• guidance towards employment
Kans Kok gives them that chance — and builds an inclusive society where everyone can participate.

We focus on people with a distance to the labor market, such as:
• long-term job seekers
• people receiving social assistance benefits
• people with limited work experience or educational background
• people who find it difficult to find work due to personal circumstances
