About us
We are opening a new authentic Italian/Mediterranean restaurant in the heart of Leiden. Not a mass pizzeria, but a place where passion for food, quality ingredients and warm hospitality come first. Think handmade stone-oven pizzas, fresh pasta, Mediterranean antipasti, and great Italian wines.
For our kitchen team, we are looking for a Pizzaiolo / Independent Working Chef who wants to grow with us and help build a successful restaurant from day one.

What will you do?
• Prepare authentic Italian and Mediterranean dishes
• Make pizzas in our stone oven from start to finish (dough, sauces, toppings)
• Prepare fresh pasta and homemade sauces (sugo, pesto, ragù)
• Take ownership of your station in the kitchen
• Contribute ideas for the menu, seasonal dishes and specials
• Maintain HACCP standards and kitchen hygiene
• Manage stock and place orders in consultation with the team
• Supervise kitchen assistants and interns when needed
• Work closely with a small, tight-knit team
• Coordinate with front-of-house staff regarding allergies and special requests

What we ask
• Minimum 2 years of experience as a chef in an Italian or Mediterranean restaurant
• Pizza preparation experience (stone oven experience is a strong plus)
• Knowledge of fresh pasta and traditional Italian sauces
• Passion for authentic Italian cuisine and fresh ingredients
• HACCP knowledge and food safety standards
• Strong cooking and knife skills
• Able to work independently as well as part of a team
• Stress-resistant and flexible (evening and weekend shifts)
• Good command of English; Italian and/or Dutch is a strong plus
• EU citizenship or a valid Dutch work permit

What we offer

• Salary: € 2,900 – € 3,400 gross per month (38 hours, depending on experience)
• 8% holiday pay + 25 vacation days (full-time)
• Travel allowance (€0.23/km up to 30 km one-way, or public transport reimbursement)
