After three successful evenings about the causes and consequences of climate change, the Leiden Migrant Support Desk and Solid Sustainability Research are organizing three evenings about a fair transition and how to contribute to it. After a tasty, free meal, an interactive program follows, including a quiz and table discussions. The evening will be organized in Dutch and English on Friday, May 10, in Arabic and Dutch on June 14 and in Farsi and Dutch on July 5.

The three evenings in February, March and April were aimed at exchanging knowledge and stimulating conversations. The aim of the upcoming three evenings is to discuss together what a just transition looks like and to connect participants and local sustainability initiatives. Local organizations are invited to give a pitch and talk to participants.

Rayan Younis of the Leiden Migrant Support Desk says: “Everyone is welcome on these evenings, whether you are a migrant or not. We believe that through self-reflection and collaboration we can bring about change.” Linda Knoester of Solid Sustainability Research adds: “Currently, migrants in the Netherlands have little say in the energy transition and the fight against climate change. We want to change this with this program.”

Admission is free, but visitors are asked to register at tinyurl.com/transitielsm. Free dinner is served at 6:00 PM and the substantive program starts at 7:00 PM. From around 9:00 PM there will be music to end the evening in a pleasant way. For questions, please call 071-8330102 / +316 858 874 63 or send an email to transition@leidssteunloket.nl.
