✨ Leiden Support Centre for Migrants (LSM): The Driving Force for an Inclusive Future ✨
LSM was founded five years ago as a local citizen initiative and has since grown into a powerful engine that stimulates change and strengthens collaboration. We believe in a society in which everyone can participate, regardless of background or situation. LSM plays an important role in connecting governments, citizens and organisations, in order to tackle societal challenges and work together towards a better world.
Together Against Inequality
Poverty and inequality are complex and comprehensive. They are about more than just income—think of access to food, healthcare, housing, digital resources, and social networks. At LSM, we tackle these problems with a holistic approach, aimed at reducing the gap between rich and poor and strengthening social cohesion. Our multilingual and accessible services are available to everyone who needs support.
From walk-in consultations to reporting points for poverty, debt, and discrimination: our projects, such as the education group and the world kitchen, contribute to empowerment and inclusion. ❤️ Together we ensure a more resilient society in which everyone has the opportunity to grow.

In the last month of 2024 we continue the journey! Monday is the legal consultation hour (by appointment), and we are introducing two new initiatives: our multilingual reporting point for structural racism and discrimination, and the reporting point for debt and financial need. We cordially invite you to build an inclusive and supportive community together in which every voice counts. 💙

LSM volunteers delve into an underexposed, urgent theme: the impact of war on climate and migration. An evening full of multilingual conversations, insights and connection. Together we increase understanding of these complex topics and work on solutions. 🌱

Leiden Support Desk Migrants invites you to a fascinating and informative evening on a current theme: Arms Trade and Migration – Deals on militarization of borders.

The Netherlands and the EU are increasingly making agreements with countries outside the EU to stop refugees before they reach Europe. This is often accompanied by major deals around military support for border control. These agreements, including billion-dollar deals with countries such as Turkey, Libya, and Niger, have far-reaching consequences. We will discuss cooperation with authoritarian regimes, colonial influences, and how the arms industry benefits from this.
Learn more about the impact of this border policy and what the future holds. Including live music and a welcoming atmosphere!
