Vacation Time

🌞 It’s vacation time! 🌿

What a year so far! Since January, we at LSM have been working hard on inspiring projects, new initiatives, and valuable collaborations. Now we’re taking a well-deserved break to recharge – because after the summer, we have more exciting things planned!
✨ What’s happening after the summer?
Together with the Inclusion Discrimination Bureau (IDB) and Incluzio, we’re starting to set up hotlines against discrimination and racism in several neighborhoods in Leiden. With 10 to 12 dedicated volunteers, we’re creating safe spaces where every voice is heard. A powerful pilot project commissioned by the municipality of Leiden!
🌍 We’re also launching “Multilingual Vibrant Local Democracy” – a project in which we organize workshops, meetings, and events in various languages. This way, we ensure that everyone – regardless of background or language – can participate in the local and national democratic process.
⚡ We also remain active in the energy transition. Together with the province of South Holland and the municipality of Leiden, we’re back to tackling energy projects, campaigns, and informational meetings after the summer. This is how we’re working towards a fair and inclusive energy future for everyone.
🍕🎉 And our social catering continues to grow!
With mini pizzas, poffertjes, popcorn, and cotton candy machines, we’re bringing even more atmosphere and fun to children’s parties, neighborhood activities, and youth gatherings. Delicious and social!

💬 In short: a lot of great things are happening at LSM – thanks to your involvement, ideas, and commitment. But first… we’re taking a well-deserved break, so we can continue building our mission refreshed and energized.

🗓 Please note: From July 21st to August 21st, our services will be limited. We’ll be less easily reachable by phone. Do you have something urgent or would you like to make an appointment? Feel free to send us a message or email – we check regularly!

Volunteer Day

INVITATION – Volunteer Day Full of Connection

Dear all,

On Friday 27 June we are organizing a fun and connecting volunteer day for all our volunteers, work partners, friends and participants. We cordially invite you to enjoy an evening full of delicious food, nice conversations and beautiful music together.

What can you expect?
🌍 Delicious dishes provided by our World Kitchen and social catering
🎶 Live music by Aad, followed by oriental sounds by Kahlil, and finally a mix of international music to relax to
🤝 A warm evening full of fun, meeting and connection

We think it is extra nice if you not only come alone, but also bring your friends, family members and other loved ones. Everyone is very welcome to experience this beautiful evening together!

But there is more:
After the summer we will start new projects in the field of energy, reporting desks and lively local democracy. We are happy to share our plans with you and would like to hear your ideas. Your vote counts, so we sincerely hope you’ll be there.
