We are currently running an energy-saving campaign for the clients of the Leiden Food Bank.
Together against energy poverty, together for a sustainable future! โจ๐
The Leiden Migrant Support Desk โ Multilingual Energy Helpdesk is collaborating with the Leiden Food Bank to support residents in saving energy and accelerating the energy transition. ๐ก๐
By connecting directly with the Food Bank’s clients, we offer:
โ Personal energy advice โ Practical tips and guidance for a more sustainable home.
โ Awareness & knowledge โ Information campaigns and meetings about energy savings.
โ Concrete help โ Support with small energy-saving measures such as radiator foil, draft excluders, and LED lighting.
โ Reporting function โ Identifying dire living situations and reporting them to housing associations and agencies for structural improvements.
๐ช With this initiative, we give energy back to the people who need it most. Together we fight poverty and build a sustainable futureย forย Leiden.ย ๐ฑ

Vacation Time
๐ It’s vacation time! ๐ฟ
What a year so far! Since January, we at LSM have been working hard on inspiring projects, new initiatives, and valuable collaborations. Now we’re taking a well-deserved break to recharge โ because after the summer, we have more exciting things planned!
โจ What’s happening after the summer?
Together with the Inclusion Discrimination Bureau (IDB) and Incluzio, we’re starting to set up hotlines against discrimination and racism in several neighborhoods in Leiden. With 10 to 12 dedicated volunteers, we’re creating safe spaces where every voice is heard. A powerful pilot project commissioned by the municipality of Leiden!
๐ We’re also launching “Multilingual Vibrant Local Democracy” โ a project in which we organize workshops, meetings, and events in various languages. This way, we ensure that everyone โ regardless of background or language โ can participate in the local and national democratic process.
โก We also remain active in the energy transition. Together with the province of South Holland and the municipality of Leiden, we’re back to tackling energy projects, campaigns, and informational meetings after the summer. This is how we’re working towards a fair and inclusive energy future for everyone.
๐๐ And our social catering continues to grow!
With mini pizzas, poffertjes, popcorn, and cotton candy machines, we’re bringing even more atmosphere and fun to children’s parties, neighborhood activities, and youth gatherings. Delicious and social!
๐ฌ In short: a lot of great things are happening at LSM โ thanks to your involvement, ideas, and commitment. But first… we’re taking a well-deserved break, so we can continue building our mission refreshed and energized.
